Recap of the MobiFi AMA with Blockchain Space

We asked him questions about the development of MobiFi.

INTRODUCTION

Q~ Introduce yourself and MobiFi to the blockchain-Space community ?

A~ My name is Yudi, live in the Netherlands. Business informatics background from Utrecht University. Working as a data scientist and then IT CTO advisor in Shell headquarter.

MobiFi is building the first Corda to DeFi bridge that connect the tranditional cororates business to the crypto and DeFi space. The MobiFi project itself is leveraging this to streamline the mobility UX and turn people’s mobility credit into investable funds.

Q~ Explain the structure of the yield engine of the mobility credit ?

A~ okay, give you an example.

Today you have to top up your transportation card before you can use mobility services, and it’s very limited to public transportation etc. Once you top up, the money is “dead” there.

With our mobility wallet, and the tokenized credit, you can use any kind of mobility services in the city and top up as much money as you want, because the money is tokenized and can be invest into the DeFi product through our bridge. that means, you can generate profit with your transportaion card. (an anaology)

Q~ MobiFi mobility services is limited to what region /country ?

A~ okay, so the mobility service, I mean the real train, bus, bike these kind of service will be starting from Europe then expand to the globe, so there is no limitation in terms of region really. But it take some time to get those services onboard.

For the DeFi service, basically the yield enginer part, it opens to anyone in the world. Just like DeFi itself. it should be widely avaiable to eveyone. Thus, people can start to hold MobiFi token to earn profit even before the mobility service is available in their region.

Users can earn fee generated from the corda bridge we are going to build, that also generate yields for those node runner/stakers.

Q~ Who are the main target of the MobiFi project in the blockchain space and how do you aim to offer better solutions that cannot be offered else where ?

A~ So as I mentioned the Corda brige we are developing. As far as I konw, there is no one else who is building it, at least not many. But that’s a very critical part for the entire DeFi world. The whole crypto market size is still very very very small compare to the tranditiona world. When big player start to join the game, the real growth will come. Just like what Microstrategy and Tesla have done. That’s also one of the reasons that bitcoin really went up since last year.

We not only building the bridge for the mobility yield engine, it can be used by all kinds applications live on Corda. We opened a huge door to those coporates joining the DeFi game.

Btw, for those of you don’t know Corda (it’s an open source project), they are the most adopted enterprise blockchain in the financial and coporate space. Customer include ING banks, Nasdaq, SAP, Accentrures, etc.

Q~ MobiFi has two core components, what are these components composed of, how will these ensure the easy usage of MobiFi for its users ?

A~ Roadmap wise, two things we will be building:

1) the corda to Polkadot/ETH bridge.

2) the mobility service for end users.

or if only in the mobility business, then we have a end user focused app + a enterprise monitoring dashbaord, which provide all transaction info for mobility services providers.

Q~ MobiFi just announced partnership with API3, Do you plan for more partnerships in the future and what are your other. upcoming plans ?

A~ We have already established partnership with some solid and very cool projects. Just need some time to announce them one by one. And new partnerships will be established as well. actually before this call we just had a call with one super hot project, and we will be using their service in the future as well. Stay tuned for the news.

QUESTIONS FROM TELEGRAM

Q~ Trust and security is very important in any business , what makes investors , customer and users safe secure when working with your project?

A~ We will be open source our bridge code is open for everyone to check. and test. We will create bounty program to attract developer to contribute to the bridge development.

Plus, we will be using one of our partner’s insurance service to ensure that there is no risk for people to use our service, not just bridge, also our permission ledger part. Everything.

Q~ Mobifi is a combination of both mobility platform and finance platform which also mainly focus to crypto users. How will the mobifi be competitive among other non crypto mobility platforms like google map ?

A~ We don’t compete with apps like Google map, we may even leverage their Map APIs. no need to recreate the wheel.

But the traditional mobility guys they have their limitations. Their services are very. fragmented, and they have big problem with the current payment system. For example, high transactions fees. We don’t need to compete with them, we can actually help them. It’s more a partnership than competition.

Plus, all traditiona service provider need to acquire customers. We have a killing feature to help them acquire customers. That’s the yield engine. Everyone have the willing to save money and do investment, to make more money. And everyone needs to travel and move around. We make both possible at the same time.

Q~ 𝗜 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗙𝗶 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿 / 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝘆𝗽𝘁𝗼𝘀 / 𝘁𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻𝘀. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝟭𝟵? 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀?

A~ One thing I didn’t mention is the ways we can help our user moentize not only their money, but also their data.

Using a decentralized, transparent technology like blockchain, we are able to provide ways people can sell their data via us to our partners’ data market to earn profit. All data will be shared in a anynomous way. We create the willingness with incentives to let people share their data. Government was struggling during Covid to know how the peole are moving around, how to track down the virus etc. We can defintely help and prevent this whole disaster happen again.

Q~ I noted that MobiFi has no additional cost to consumers and they choose responsible ways to travel to earn mobility credits. Can you explain to me how I can earn mobility credits what they consist of?

A~ There are many ways you can earn mobility credits. Some examples

1) become a node runner/staker for the bridge, all fees goes to them

2) travel responsible (drive electric, take public transport, bike, etc)

3) providing liquidity

4) many others

Q~ You mention that through your tokenized payment you will be able to “connect mobility service providers and travelers.” Does it mean that I can save time, money and stress when traveling or transporting myself somewhere?

A~ Yes, that’s part of the problem we want to solve by Steamlining the mobility UX. Today all kinds services are really in silo. You have to use Google map to figure out everything yourself. Because they are not connected, data wise. We are not only the payment solution, but also the data connector.

Q~ What is the structure of this project, is it decentralised or a open sourced protocol where everybody can contribute? If so, how does the governance plan on being handled?

A~ The corda bridge project will be 100% open sourced. It will be driven by MobiFi of course, but we will create developmeent program to make it sustainable. Eventually, there is no need for MobiFi to control it, it will be fully maintained by community. We are thinking of a few governance structure for it. MobiFi token can be used a governance token for voting etc. but more details will be released in the future.
